Danbury, CT is a city located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Only 70 miles away from New York City, Danbury is in the New York metropolitan area. According to the 2013 census, the city has a growing population of 83,684.

The city was founded in 1702, and operated as a military supply depot during the American Revolution. Danbury, CT was originally nicknamed “Beantown” due to the quality of beans that grew there. By the 19^th century, Danbury’s nickname had evolved to “Hat City” as it was the center of America’s hat production.
